On September 25th, the Bling Devas MC will host their 5th annual beard contest, Sponsored by Chops Barbershop and Shave. Each year Competitors are lined up, and it is the “popular vote” that wins. An applause meter is used, and a high value is placed on stage presence as well. Whether your beard is a thick, luxurious, distinguished, flowing beard or a random mixture of porcupine spines poking through an oversized Brillo pad, oil, balm, brush that beard into shape, and get to the contest. Contestants should register by 12:30 pm at Full Throttle Law at 1671 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Henderson
Start now! Start testing different styling aids and experimenting with different styles now. You don’t want to wait until the day of the competition.
Experienced competitors suggest giving your facial hair at least a week to grow a little more without being waxed. Styling increases the chance of breakage, so giving your beard the time to “breath” means it will be at its peak during the contest.
Don’t let fear stop you. It’s common to get nervous or to think your beard won’t ever win, but it isn’t unusual to have a complete newbie win in his first competition. You will have a great time at the very least.
