If you live north of Denver, you have more than likely been to the popular biker bar Jerry D’s in the town of Dacono. In fact, it’s the only bar in that town. It was fun and interesting to sit down with general manager Dawn Marie Webster and learn about her and Jerry D’s. I thought it was pretty funny that she and I are Facebook friends and have been for several years now, but never actually met until the interview. You may know her from The Dive Bar on Colfax, which she owned for several years, and as the owner of Skull Bling Boutique. She has been the GM at Jerry D’s for over two years, and her boyfriend, Mike Lobdell, is the owner. Dawn lived the biker life as a Hells Angel lady for several years, so she knows what a biker bar should entail and how to run it. She welcomes all MCs.
During the off season, biker bars need to stay afloat, and Dawn knows it’s vital to do homework and understand the seasonality of her area in order to come up with promos or events to stay busy. She joined GrubHub and hopes to see a 20% increase in food orders. She also goes door to door and hands out coupons and informs neighbors about her bar and all the events that are planned in the upcoming months. Now that is a proactive, determined bar manager.
One cold Saturday morning, I ordered the chicken fried steak with homemade gravy, and it was out of this world. I am always searching for the best gravy, and I truly feel like I can stop now. I found it here at Jerry D’s. You need to come here for breakfast, and you should also try their Bloody Marys. What a way to start the day! They serve breakfast Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you love wings, they have ten delicious sauces to choose from, including: hot, extra hot, BBQ, cajun, garlic and pepper, honey hot, honey BBQ, hillbilly, and more. They are also known for their homemade green chili and salsa. In fact, you can purchase these for any occasion. Get a quart of the salsa for $7, and a quart of the green chili for $8.
Jerry D’s has by far the best beer garden. This area is great for bands and dancing. The lineup for the season is John Weeks, Austin Young, Black Widow, Hornbuckle, Symbols, and Chris Romero. This is a kid friendly bar as well. There are horseshoes, cornhole, and Jenga for kids to entertain themselves with out in the garden or inside there is table-top shuffleboard.
Weekly Events
Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. they host Dirty Bingo. It’s free to play, and there are lots of food and drink specials, including $1 jello shots. Wait until you see the “adult prizes” for your pleasure and fun.
Friday nights at 7 p.m. until close, pool is free!
There are no cover charges for UFC and Super Bowl games!
