“The wonderful thing about Tiggers
Is Tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!….”

It is that time of year again! We are only two months away from the 3rd annual Tigger Bounce Ride and Fundraiser! For those of you that don’t know about the Bounce, it is a motorcycle ride that is put together by fellow bikers to raise money every year for a recipient that went down on their bike and needs help getting it repaired and put back on the road! Unlike organizations like Biker in Distress or BikerDown that help people get back on their feet by helping with medical bills and daily life bills, the monies raised during Bounce Ride events go to the actual repair of the bike to get the rider back on two wheels.
The name of the Tigger Bounce Ride is dedicated to a brother that went down on his motorcycle a few years back during the Ride for Hope down in Denver. “Tigger” sustained injuries that needed surgery, which in turn caused him to lose his job and his home while he was laid up in recovery. As you can imagine, the bike was in bad shape and in need of some significant repairs, but, thankfully, it wasn’t totaled. Unfortunately, as most of you fellow riders know, when you only have liability insurance on your bike the insurance doesn’t pay for the repairs on the bike. So not only was Tigger in bad shape physically, his pride and joy was in worse shape than he was. Luckily for him, he has some amazing friends in his corner, and they got together andput on a ride to raise money to fix his bike so it would be ready for him when he was fully recovered. That is how the “Tigger Bounce Ride” was born! Corey and Kelly Taylor, the founders of the Bounce, accomplished raising the money AND doing all the repairs for Tigger’s bike, including the current paint job that is in memory of Tigger’s mother and grandmother who passed away from cancer.
The Taylors didn’t want to stop with Tigger’s bike; they wanted to make this an annual event to help others that were down on their luck. Last year, they were able to help another fellow biker by the name of Kermit De Jonge who had lost his leg as well as totaled his bike in an accident a couple of years ago. During the 2nd annual Tigger Bounce Ride, they were able to raise enough money to purchase and, with the help from Frank Coghalan of Wicked Influence, install a hand shifter on Kermit’s bike, so he could ride once again and be on two wheels.
This year they hope to be able to help a female rider and/or United States veteran, however, they are taking applications from anyone who feels they would be a good candidate for the Bounce! There are some guidelines and stipulations to be considered, so if you have questions, please go and Like the Tigger Bounce Facebook page, and you will find the information you need there. If you have other questions you can send them a message through Facebook, or you can email them at tiggerbounceride@gmail.com. If you would like to submit an application for consideration, please send it to the Tigger Bounce email as well!
This year’s ride is going to be one for the record books, and we hope to see everyone there! The date this year is June 23rd, 2018 with kickstands up at 10 AM. The ride will start and end in Fredrick, CO at High Country Harley Davidson! So mark your calendars!
