I am always looking for new products, as well as events to attend across the country, and this year, I had the pleasure of attending the AIM Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. AIMExpo is North America’s largest Motorcycle and Powersports Tradeshow with international reach. It is also the single most important event for the North American Powersports Industry because it is the catalyst to bring together industry, media, and dealers in a single arena.
Jean and I flew in from Chicago to attend the AIM Expo and the minute I got off the plane, I could see it was very chilly, windy, and snowy in Las Vegas. It truly made me feel like I was at home.
I was anxious to see some of the great exhibits that I had researched the prior week and I was not disappointed at all. This year it seems that electric-powered and electric-assisted bicycles were all the rage. The electric system pedal bike market has exploded in recent years and there were several models on display at the show.
Monday Motorbike
I made my way to the Monday Motorbike display. The new electric moped is named after Anza St. in San Francisco CA, where Monday Motorbikes began testing their first models in 2015.
The Anza electric moped is available in two formats a 500-Watt version and a 750-Watt version.
The Anza E-bike reminded me of the Café Racers from the 1970s. It is lightweight and can perform just like many of the high-end contemporary e-bikes that are presently on the market today.
This 500W model has a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) while the 750W model can reach higher speeds of up to 35 mph (56 km/h), according to Monday Motorbikes. I was really surprised how competitively priced they were in the various models.
