Cactus Jack’s Saloon

Cactus Jack’s Saloon in Evergreen has long been known as a riding staple in this community. There is nothing better than heading up thru Morrison and riding up Hwy 74, vote #2 best day tripping ride by Colorado Rider News.

It has always been the place to stop on a weekday or busy weekend to wet your whistle and soak up some local color before you continue your ride.

All of that changed on September 13th, 2013, unlucky Friday the 13th, when Evergreen experienced some of the most destructive, deadly flash flooding this community had seen in years. The raging river was cascading through Cactus Jack’s Saloon on County Road 73 and overflowing off the decks, flooding inside the saloon to about 3 feet. After the water subsided, Gary and Megan were left with the cleanup. Unfortunately, they did not have flood insurance, and had to take out a loan and renovate the saloon. With the love and support of the Evergreen community, they were able to rebuild Cactus Jack’s better than ever.

If you haven’t seen the place since the flood, you should come visit and see how spectacular it is. There is rarely a open seat to be had, and parking is a premium. The locals love their historic watering hole, and the riding community continues to stop and continue that tradition of stopping by for a burger or beer. Friday the 13th will always resonate with Cactus Jacks and will never be forgotten, but now after the renovations, the saloon has been busier, and their profits increased by 30%!
