For several years, I have been waiting to announce the premier date of American Dresser, a movie about a man who has experienced it all and sets out on the open road to fulfill his lifelong dream and confront his past.
In 2016, I had the distinct honor while at Sturgis to meet Academy Award Nominee Tom Berenger at the Legend’s Ride hosted by the Buffalo Chip. The Legend’s Ride is a celebrity fundraiser to help local South Dakota charities. Mr. Berenger was there with his wife as well as Carmine Cangialosi, who wrote and directed the film. The film has a star-studded cast including Tom Berenger, Keith David, Bruce Dern, Gina Gershon, Penelope Ann Miller, Kathrine Narducci, and Jeff Fahey. The film includes the original song “American Dresser” written and performed by Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top and Country Rocker, Tim Montana.
On August 8, 2018 – Cinedigm Corp announced today that it has acquired North American distribution rights to the motorcycle road picture, American Dresser, On September 21, 2018, American Dresser will show locally at the Highlands Ranch AMC theatre with a BLU-RAY and DVD release to follow in November.
From writer and director Carmine Cangialosi, who also stars, American Dresser follows John Moore (Tom Berenger), a hard-edged Vietnam veteran who is recently widowed and estranged from his adult daughters. After discovering a decades-old secret his wife kept for years, John finds himself at a crossroads and decides to confront the mistakes of his past by fulfilling a lifelong dream. He fixes up his American Dresser motorcycle and sets out on a cross-country road trip with his best friend, Charlie (Keith David).
They hit the highway, explore new territories, meet a series of offbeat characters, and together they learn that life is about moving forward, one mile at a time.
